Youth Communication-Teens Writing for Teens

Youth Communication - 25th Anniversary

On January 18th, 2006, we celebrated Youth Communication's 25th Anniversary at Symphony Space. A sold-out audience watched live performances of true stories from our magazines (New Youth Connections and Represent) adapted for the stage by director Tamilla Woodard and dramaturg Sharahn LaRue McClung. We also premiered a short documentary about the creative process behind the stories, produced by Amy Brown and Marilyn Ness, with executive producer Ric Burns.

The evening was both a fundraiser and a memorable tribute to the 2000 young people who worked at Youth Communication over the past 25 years.

Supporters contributed $260,000 towards the future of our writing program.
