Real Jobs, Real Stories helps teens identify and strengthen the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, while building their literacy skills and motivation to read.

The curriculum covers several work-related content areas including:

• Career Exploration
• Reflection

The Real Jobs curriculum includes:
—The Real Jobs Leader’s Guide: a comprehensive set of workshop activities and supporting materials to help facilitators effectively run the program with youth.
—The Real Jobs Reader: an anthology of 33 true teen-written stories about work experiences.
—The Real Jobs Participant Workbook: a set of materials for use in the Real Jobs workshops, as well as supplemental information for participants’ reference.

Each content area includes a series of experiential activities that challenge teens to explore ideas, and build vital skills to prepare for the world of work.

Teens who participate in Real Jobs will walk away with practical tools, including a resume and an action plan for pursuing a fulfilling career.

Our experienced team can work directly with your youth participants to facilitate the Real Jobs program at your site. This can also serve as a modeling and mentoring experience for staff.

Staff training workshops cover a range of topics including utilizing the Real Jobs materials, facilitating successful group activities, and incorporating extension activities to explore topics more in depth.

Coaching and technical assistance provide programs with ongoing support in effectively implementing Real Jobs.  These services are customized to meet the specific needs of your staff.
