Elmer
Hardy
Elmer, NYC class of 1985, has a degree in Journalism from the
New York Institute of Technology and a Master's in Divinity
from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Elmer was a reporter
for the Nassau County Department of Socials Services' Video
Department and the New York Christian Times. He has produced
religious programming for the radio stations WMCA, WWRL, and
WLNA. He is currently preacher at the Ebenezer Baptist Church
and religious affairs manager for the Odyssey Channel. |

Earl Hardy
James wrote for NYC from 1985 to 1989. He has a BA from St.
John's University and a MS from the Columbia School of Journalism.
He won numerous journalism awards and scholarships while in
high school and college. He was an assistant editor at Update
(a Scholastic magazine) before starting his successful freelance
writing career. He has written for various publications and
is the author of several books, including the Lambda bestseller
B-Boy Blues and its two sequels, and a young adult biography
of Spike Lee. |

Marc Hogi
Marc wrote and illustrated for NYC during 1989-90. He attended
State University of New York at Morrisville and the University
of Alabama, earning a degree in Journalism. He has held internships
at Randall Publishing and WUAL Radio, and has worked as a production
assistant at the Fox News Channel. |

Sheridan
Honore
Sheridan has a BA in English Literature from Michigan State
and a graduate degree in Journalism from the Ohio State Graduate
School of Journalism. He was a reporter for the Lansing State
Journal in Michigan. He was a newswriter for WJBK-TV in Detroit,
and WPIX-TV and WWOR-TV in New York City. He currently is a
newswriter for WNBC-TV in New York. He was at Youth Communication
from 1981 to 1984. |

Michael Isralewitz
A graduate of Queens College with a degree in English, Michael
is production editor at the Journal of RTC Real Estate. He was
at NYC in 1983 and 1984. |

Jaffe
Craig was at Foster Care Youth United from 1994 to 1996. He
has worked at Gay Men's Health Crisis and is currently an administrative
assistant at the Stonewall Community Foundation in New York. |

Janice
Jenkins Tosto
Janice wrote for NYC in the early 1980s. She graduated from
State University of New York at Old Westbury with a BA in American
Studies and won numerous awards for her volunteer work at several
human service organizations. She has been a counselor in various
schools and community organizations. From 1990-96 she directed
the Congressional Award Program, a junior high school mentoring
project in the South Bronx. She is currently a vocational counselor
at Phoenix Career Academy. She has a Master's degree in Guidance
and Counseling from Hunter College. |

Giselle
John
Giselle wrote for Foster Care Youth United in 1997 and 1998.
She has been a member of the Administration for Children's Services'
advisory board and was a Public Allies Fellow at Youth Communication.
She was named an Urban Hero in 1998 by the Catalog for Giving,
an organization which raises money for youth programs in New
York City. She currently works for Voices of Youth, a Youth
Communication program which prepares foster care teens to educate
child care professionals about the needs of youth in care. She
is a student at John Jay College. |

Jones
David has a degree in Journalism from Northwestern/Medill. He
interned at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Boston Globe,
and the Detroit Free Press. He has been a reporter for the Rochester
Democrat & Chronicle, Home Furnishings Daily, Business Travel,
and for Bloomberg Business News. He is currently managing editor
of Travel Agent magazine. He wrote for NYC in 1983 and 1984. |
