Ellen, who wrote for NYC in 1983-4, has worked as a reporter
for USA Today Online and currently covers marketing for Business
Week. She also writes a monthly marketing column for Business

Oni
Nicolarakis
Oni, who wrote for NYC in 1997, attends Gallaudet University,
where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education. She was
salutatorian of her high school class and has received numerous
academic awards, including Gallaudet University's President
Scholarship. She was an intern at PS/JHS 47 School for the Deaf.

Nix-Hickmon
Kyeeniah has a BA in Communications and African Studies from
Hunter College. She has directed the Collegiate Science and
Technology Program at Hunter College, been a counselor at Dunlevy
Milbank, and a researcher for the Adolescent Vocational Exploration
Program. She was at Youth Communication from 1987 to 1990. |

Shweta
Parmar
Shweta wrote for NYC in 1992-93. She graduated from the University
of Pennsylvania with a degree in International Relations and
Political Science. She has participated in numerous internships
and projects to benefit the Asian community in Philadelphia,
including organizing a Cambodian Girl Scout troop, conducting
pre-citizenship classes for South Asians, and assisting in voter
registration drives. She is currently Freedom Schools coordinator
for Asian Americans United in Philadelphia. |

Chris
Pope
Chris is a freelance desktop publisher and designer. He also
worked as a desktop publisher at Youth Communication for several
years, and helped to design this Web site. Chris published 99
illustrations in New Youth Connections and Foster Care Youth
United from 1995 to 1999. |

Ernesto Quinonez
Ernesto participated in the 1981 NYC summer writing workshop.
He studied writing at the City College of New York and published
the novel Bodega Dreams. He has also taught bilingual 4th grade.

Radosh
Daniel wrote for NYC in 1983. He has a degree in English
and Religion from Oberlin. He was a writer for Spy and New York
Press and a columnist for Esquire and Details. He was the founder
of Stale, a Web site spoof of Microsoft's Slate site, and is
currently senior editor of the online magazine Modern Humorist. |

Reyes
Efrain was an artist at NYC during 1982-85. He earned a degree
in Illustration at Pratt Institute. Since 1988, he has been
Assistant Director at Youth Communication, responsible for desktop
publishing, managing our computer systems, and designing our
Web site. |

Lisa
Rhodes
Lisa has a degree in English Literature from Baruch College
and a MS from the Columbia University School of Journalism.
She has worked as a reporter for Emerge, as a news editor for
Children's Business, and as an associate editor at Scholastic
News. She was also an editor at the Children's Defense Fund.
More recently she has been a technical writer and currently
works at the Foundation Center in New York City. She wrote for
NYC from 1982 to 1987. |
