Thompson Donna was a photographer and writer for NYC from 1981 to 1983.
She has a degree in Political Science and History from the University of Rochester
and an MA in Art History from the City College of New York. She has been a desk
officer and an archives assistant for the American Field Service. She was also
manager of the Westbourne Gallery in London. She is currently the director of
new media education for the American Social History Project at the City University
of New York. |

Thornton Allison illustrated for NYC from 1987 to 1994. She has a degree
in Graphic Design from Pratt. She has been freelance designer for several companies
and is currently a graphic artist in the publications office of New Jersey City
University. |

Michelle Trester
Michelle earned a BA in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
She is the assistant director of research and negotiations at District Council
37. She wrote for NYC during 1983-85. |

Tse After graduating from Cornell University, Christina Tse managed the
desktop publishing operations of several firms. She now runs the Population Council's
desktop publishing department. She wrote for NYC in 1984-85. |

Vincent Dana is a graduate of Spelman College and has a Master's in Economics
from the New School. She has been a program officer for the Jewish Fund for Justice.
She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in economics at the New School. She wrote for
NYC from 1988 to 1990. |

Waddell After earning a degree in English at Hunter College, Robert worked
as a copyperson at The New York Times. He is currently a columnist and associate
producer at Latinolink.com. He wrote for NYC from 1981 to 1984. |
 | Maurelhena
Walles Maurelhena, NYC class of 1991-92, graduated from Alabama A&M
with a BA in Telecommunications and earned an MA in Communications from Brooklyn
College. She was an intern in Congressman Charles Rangel's office and later worked
for him as a researcher and clerk. She has worked as assistant director and production
supervisor at Medgar Evers College. Maurelhena is currently producer/director
at Spawn Productions and educational coordinator at Catholic Charities. |

Warwin Jason, who wrote for NYC in 1991, attended Brown University, earning
a degree in Pan-African Studies and Organizational Behavior and Management. He
worked as housing coordinator at the Settlement Housing Fund, youth services assistant
at the John Hope Settlement House and community service director at the International
Youth Leadership Institute. Jason co-founded and currently co-directs The Brotherhood/Sister
Sol, an African-American youth development organization in Manhattan. |

Weston Crystal wrote for NYC from 1982-86. A graduate of the City College
of New York, she has a law degree from Northeastern Law School. She has worked
for the San Francisco Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, as legislative assistant
to San Francisco Supervisor Leslie Katz, and as the Same-Sex Domestic Violence
Advocate for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She is currently deputy
director of the African American AIDS Support Services and Survival Institute
in Oakland. |

Angela M. Williams Angela illustrated and wrote for NYC from 1988-91.
She earned a BA in Graphic Design from Fashion Institute of Technology and worked
as an art director at Def Jam, Essence magazine and Universal Records. Angela
has also served as a producer on Out-FM, WBAI Radio. She is currently a freelance
art director in Oakland, California. |

Woodberry, Jr. Warren has a BA in Journalism from Clark Atlanta University.
He was an intern at Newsday and the Atlanta Journal & Constitution. He worked
as a reporter for the Asbury Park Press and The Hartford Courant. He is currently
a reporter for the New York Daily News. He wrote for NYC during 1989-90. |
